The National RV Training Academy (NRVTA) in Athens, Texas offers the Mobile RV Technician Program for the RV professional that needs to fast track their RV education.

Most adult learners have a full schedule with their family, their job and busy social calendar so their time is a precious commodity. Typically, they are a person that learns best with their hands.

While these “hands on” learner will gain some knowledge by reading the manual or by watching a video, their best knowledge retention and skill building takes place in the environment where they are able to operate, correctly troubleshoot and repair the various systems and equipment found in today’s RV.

There are 3 different options or tracks of instruction that an individual can follow that will give them the skill and knowledge to become a Mobile RV Technician. This technical knowledge will also prepare them to work toward becoming a RVDA/RVIA Registered Technician and then a RVDA/RVIA Certified RV Technician.

Each structured option is a curriculum of the combined Hands-On Labs and Classroom Training that is broken into 5 separate blocks of learning. Each block is 1 week in length.  These 1 week blocks of instruction can be taken independently or as the cluster of 5 weeks in a row.

The 3 training options are as follows:

Option #1 – Mobile RV Technician - (Technical) Track

Live 5 Day Hands-On track that is geared strictly for the technical type that needs to get in and get out as quickly as possible. In Option #1 there NO business or other career offerings available. It is ONLY RV Technician related instruction!

To complete Option #1 of Mobile RV Technician Program you will need move into Week #1 -RV Maintenance Course. It is the core or foundation of this track.

Then into the 4 weeks of the Advanced Courses found under the RV Dealer Training tab of this website. These 4 weeks of advanced training help develop solid troubleshooting skills with the knowledge and skills necessary to service today’s RV.

Mobile RV Technician (Technical) Track – Class Program Summary

  • Class #1 - RV Maintenance Course - Week #1 of the RV Dealer Training Program
  • Classes #2-5 - Advanced Training Classes of the RV Dealer Training Program

 

Option #2 – Mobile RV Technician (Business) Track

Live Hands-On Track that is for the technical type that is also looking for RV technical and business-related instruction that needs to get in and out as quickly as possible. In this Track there will be fellow students that are RV Inspectors, RV Campground Maintenance Technicians or Certified Walk Through Technicians.

To complete Option #2 of Mobile RV Technician Program you will need move into RV Maintenance Course that is part of the RV Professional Program. This is the core or foundation of this track.

Then complete the 4 weeks of the Advanced Courses found under the RV Dealer Training tab of this website. These 4 weeks of advanced training help develop solid troubleshooting skills with the knowledge and skills necessary to service today’s RV.

Mobile RV Technician (Business) – Class Program Summary

  • Class #1 - RV Maintenance Course (RV Professional Training Program)
  • Classes #2-5 - Advanced Training Classes (found in the RV Dealer Training Program)

 

Option #3 – Mobile RV Technician (Hybrid) Track

Begins with the recorded version of the RV Maintenance Course that is on a USB memory stick that is played on your computer in the comfort of your home. It has all the RV Maintenance Course training information and handouts just like those found in the LIVE 5 Day Hands-On RV Maintenance classes. This is the core or foundation of this track.

To complete Option #3 of Mobile RV Technician Program you will need move into the 4 weeks of Advanced Courses under the RV Dealer Training of the Training Options Tab of this website. These 4 weeks of advanced training help develop solid troubleshooting skills with the knowledge and skills necessary to service today’s RV.

Mobile RV Technician (Hybrid) – Class Program Summary

  • Class #1 - RV Maintenance Course - Home Study Option (found in the RV Owner Training Program) *USB memory stick is used for this portion of this course option
  • Classes #2-5 - Advanced Training Classes (found in the RV Dealer Training Program) *these classes are LIVE and Hands – On and are NOT available via online or via USB memory stick

 

Pre-Requisite: The Technician MUST complete a RV Maintenance Course BEFORE they can move into one of the Advanced Training Topics during Weeks  2 - 5. 

*Exception- If the student can demonstrate through testing that he or she has the electrical, propane and water systems troubleshooting skills necessary to be successful in the Advanced Training Topics the Pre-Requisite can be waived.

The RV Technician Apprenticeship Program will also prepare the technician to take the *RVDA/RVIA Registered Technician exam which is the 1st step to becoming a *RVDA/RVIA Certified RV Technician.

*The RVDA/RVIA Registered and Certified Exams are NOT part of the National RV Training Academy program and are not required to complete the training at the National RV Training Academy.
