Advanced Solar Technician

This program prepares individuals to apply basic technical knowledge and skills to build, test, inspect, repair, service and maintain solar systems and components. Includes instruction in advanced assessment, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills of solar power and installation as it relates to RV operations. The Advanced Solar Technician program is focused on the hands-on skills and training required for technicians entering the RV industry to properly install, diagnose, and troubleshoot both factory and custom solar installations. The Advanced Solar Technician curriculum advances the studentโ€™s skills and knowledge in the areas of basic electrical operations, fire & life safety, weight distribution, and other technical skills as outlined by the RV Service Training Council. Once the student has acquired their Advanced Solar Technician knowledge and skills, they are eligible to take the RVTAA Certified Solar Technician Exam to join the ranks of Certified Solar professionals. Students might expect to find employment at an insurance agency, banking, extended service agreement companies, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), dealerships, vendors, equipment suppliers, repair shops, and/or via small business ownership.
