ATHENS, Texas – Laura Stewart has been appointed as student advisor at the National RV Training Academy (NRVTA), the school announced today.

A native of Louisiana and a half-time RVer herself, Stewart will serve as the first point of contact at the Big Red Schoolhouse for people looking for information about taking classes to become NRVTA Registered or Certified RV or Technicians as well as inspectors certified by the National RV Inspectors Association (NRVIA).

She is responsible for answering questions and explaining the pathways for students to attain various credentials. She will also work to schedule the students in classes so they can complete training within their desired timeframe.

“It’s also my job to work with students to set up appropriate payment plans, work with their schedules and, most importantly, guide them toward their new career path,” Stewart explained.

“With so many different courses offered at multiple times each quarter, it can be confusing to understand the process and then set up a plan to complete the required courses,” she added. “My goal is to take the mystery out of the process and get students successfully plugged into our programs.”

A steady influx of inquiries about training options prompted the school to create the student advisor position, said Evada Cooper, administrator of the Big Red Schoolhouse.

“We have been fielding nearly a dozen calls a day from prospective students and the staff felt it was important to hire a dedicated advisor to advocate on behalf of the students,” she explained. “Laura is just the type of organized people-person we need to help get students started on a new career quickly.”
