Resetting a propane lockout

Several of our appliances in our rig require propane such as our furnace, our refrigerator (if we put it on propane) and of course, our water heater, so it makes sense that this week we’re talking about propane lockout.

If you ever notice that your propane appliances are not working, you may look online for help and be told to purge your stove by turning it on to get a small flame from your stove. Most likely it isn’t a purge, but a propane lockout. 

To fix it, you’ll turn off your propane whether it’s a cylinder or a tank. After a few seconds you’ll hear a click from the excess flow valve, which indicates that you’ve reset your propane. 

Next, turn off all appliances inside that require propane, and then you’ll turn the tank back on (you should hear something similar to a puff of air). Turn your appliances back on and you’re ready to go!
