Career Change to Certified RV Inspector - Manny’s Journey at the National RV Training Academy

For Manny from Florida, life was ready for a change. He and his wife had spent months talking about what their next chapter might look like — a lifestyle that would allow them to travel, explore, and work with freedom. After eight months of research and reflection, they discovered the National RV Training Academy (NRVTA) and realized it could be the perfect fit.

“I’ve always had an interest in living on the road,” Manny said. “You could call it van life, or just a desire to see things in person instead of through a book. We finally decided to do something different — something that aligned with how we wanted to live.”

Taking the Leap

Making the decision wasn’t easy. Like many adults considering a new career, Manny wanted to be sure this was the right step. “It took about eight months to decide and make sure things were right for us,” he said. “But once we made the choice, we were all in.”

He enrolled in the RV Fundamentals Course at NRVTA — the essential first step for anyone looking to understand RV systems and maintenance. From there, he continued through Week Two and Week Three, completing the RV Inspector Program, which trains students to evaluate RVs for buyers and sellers through the National RV Inspectors Association (NRVIA).

By the end of the third week, Manny had not only gained technical skills but also found a supportive community that encouraged his growth every step of the way.

A Learning Community Like No Other

“What stood out most to me was the unity,” Manny explained. “You have people from all walks of life here — 18-year-olds just starting out, retired professionals, and everyone in between. It never felt like you were alone. Everyone was working toward the same goal.”

That sense of belonging is something NRVTA is known for. Classes are hands-on, interactive, and community-driven. Students work together in lab settings to troubleshoot real RV systems — electrical, propane, plumbing, and more — under the guidance of experienced instructors.

“The instructors and the communication with staff were awesome,” Manny said. “You can tell they want you to succeed. They’re patient, knowledgeable, and make learning enjoyable.”

Turning Education Into Opportunity

After completing the course, Manny earned certifications through NRVIA and the RV Technician Association of America (RVTAA) — two of the most recognized credentials in the RV industry. With these certifications in hand, he’s ready to start building his future in the RV inspection and service field.

“I’m excited to head back home and start applying everything I’ve learned,” he said. “This training gave me not just skills, but confidence. I truly believe this is something I should have done five or ten years ago.”

For Manny, NRVTA wasn’t just a school — it was the start of a new lifestyle. He plans to use his skills to travel, work independently, and help other RVers along the way.
