Get your RV Technician Certification in as little as 5 weeks!

Eric from Greenwood, Indiana, has always enjoyed fixing things. Whether it was a house project or a problem with his RV, he loved the satisfaction of getting things working again.
“I’ve always been handy,” he said. “But I wanted to take that to the next level — to become more professional at it.”
After years of watching RV repair videos online, including some featuring NRVTA’s Director of Education, Todd Henson, Eric decided it was time to make the trip to Athens, Texas, and see what the National RV Training Academy was all about.
Learning From the Best
Eric started with NRVTA’s Fundamentals class, a one-week introduction to all the major systems found in RVs.
“I’d watched Todd on videos for years,” Eric said, smiling. “You think he’s probably not really there in person, but he is — hands-on, front and center. That made the class even better.”
During Fundamentals, Eric learned the essential systems that keep RVs running: plumbing, electrical, propane, and air conditioning. The hands-on labs and approachable teaching style helped him quickly understand how to apply what he learned.
Becoming a Certified RV Inspector
After Fundamentals, Eric continued his training by enrolling in the RV Inspector Certification program.
“For the past two weeks, I’ve been taking the inspector’s classes,” he said. “Brian, the instructor, is incredibly knowledgeable. The amount of detail and real-world training we got was excellent.”
By the end of the program, Eric earned his certification and joined the growing network of NRVIA Certified RV Inspectors across the country.
“I came into it with an open mind,” Eric said. “And it was exactly what I was hoping it would be — thorough, professional, and practical.”
A Message for Anyone Considering NRVTA
As someone who came to the school later in life, Eric wants others to know that it’s never too late to start something new.
“I’m an older guy,” he said with a grin. “And if I can do it, anybody can.”
He encourages anyone with an interest in RVs — whether you want to learn for your own rig or start a new business — to give NRVTA a serious look.
“It’s a great experience. You’ll learn so much, and you’ll leave feeling confident,” he said. “I highly recommend the inspector’s course to anyone who’s thinking about it.”
